Cyrano De Bergerac (1990) - What can I say? Something about a French warrior-poet does it for me. A classic play by Rostand this is a story of love and poetry, with enough fencing and war to keep the most cynical viewer distracted. The 1990 version has an epic feel to it, and retains Rostand's rhyming couplets (although not read as verse).
