Thursday!

If I have a favourite day of the week I suppose it'd be... Friday. Fridays have one or more of pub lunch with friends, trips around the CBD, daughter hugs, short days, dancing, friday night socialising. They're just all around good days, even with work.

I haven't really thought about my opinion on Thursdays before, they're sort of in the lingering zone between "Hump Day" and the weekend. I think I'll give this Thursday special notice. Days should be like children - love them all "the same" but different.

So, everyone hold up their right hand and swear:

I hereby resolve to make Thursdays special
I shall keep Thursdays sacred in the name of Rob
Fun shall be had, I will neglect it no more!

Genes

That's right, DNA, deoxyribo nucleaic acid (pardon my spelling on those ones).

On the way down the street this morning I was thinking about genes.

I can thank my parents for pretty decent genes - low replication errors (I can tie my own shoelaces after all, that's usually a good sign), good functional strength, no weird lingering illnesses, a minimum of skeletal pain. I'm not super symetrical for that fashion model look, and I'm not hideous. I do exercise and occasionally have a good look at my diet.

So, I'm pretty happy with my imperfect body. There are guys in wheelchairs who life fuller happier lives than the majority of able bodied folks, so at the risk of sounding like a touchy, feely, positive guy - life's really what you make of it. We all have to do the best with what we have, accept everything, and change what we can.

Get out there - do some exercise, and stop eating those Cheesy Poofs!
